Where Scarletts Feathers Gallery
Scarlett’s Feathers gallery presents “An Artful Hand: Works by Linda Sharp," an exhibition featuring works in calligraphy by Linda Sharp, February 27-March 23, 2012. The opening is Thursday, March 1, 6-8 p.m., at 53A S. Palm Ave. For more information about this exhibit, call 941-894-3620.
Sharp, who is a calligrapher and basket weaver, works with fiber, wood, ink, paints and paper to create whimsical artists books and three-dimensional mixed-media pieces.
“Curiosity leads to my creativity," says Sharp. "When I get out my paste paper, slant board, lights, nibs, inks and paints I am transported mentally and physically to a calm, peaceful place where I can create."
